Guangzhou COVID-19 Update for October 15

On October 15, 2022, Guangzhou reported 20 locally-acquired cases. All of them are close contacts in controlled zones or people with high exposure risk. Guangzhou also reported 16 locally-acquired asymptomatic cases, 15 are close contacts in controlled zones or people with high exposure risk, one was found among the close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in another city. In addition, Guangzhou reported five imported confirmed cases and five imported asymptomatic cases, while one case previously reported as imported asymptomatic case has changed to confirmed case.

As of 24:00 October 15, 2022, a total of 7,640 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 3,908 confirmed cases (2,644 imported cases and 1,264 locally-acquired cases), among which, 272 cases are still being treated in hospital; and 3,732 asymptomatic cases (3,402 imported cases and 330 locally-acquired cases), among which, 114 cases are still under medical observation.
