They have already been transferred to Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment. Their close contacts have been placed under centralized quarantine and key sites have been controlled.

Details of the Seven Imported Confirmed Cases and Seven Imported Asymptomatic Cases

Among the seven imported confirmed cases, two traveled from Mongolia, and five from Malaysia, Laos, the United States, Iran, and Germany respectively. The seven imported asymptomatic cases traveled from Vietnam, Mexico, Oman, the United States, Myanmar, Kuwait, and Malaysia respectively.

Upon their arrival in Guangzhou, all the imported confirmed and asymptomatic cases were transferred to hotels for centralized quarantine. They tested positive for COVID-19 during quarantine and were transferred to Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment.

In recent weeks, we have seen multiple and frequent outbreaks across China. Following the end of the National Day Holiday, as many people are returning to Guangzhou, the risk of transmission is high.

Recently, Guangdong CDC published a notice:

If you feel unwell when you are on a train, please report to the crew members.

"Recently, a confirmed COVID-19 case Chen traveled to City B from City A by train. Chen felt unwell on the train, however, Chen did not report to the crew members. Chen tested positive upon arriving in City B and infected many staff members working at the railway station."

Guangdong CDC quoted this case and issued the following reminder to residents when using public transportation:

Report to the crew members if you feel unwell

· Pay close attention to your health status. If you experience COVID-19-related symptoms such as fever, dry cough, fatigue, smell and taste disorder, and sore throat, etc., please follow the safety protocols as required and report to the crew members in time. You will also need to report your travel and residential history in a faithful manner. If you can inform the crew members immediately when you feel unwell, subsequent infections may be avoided.

· Pay attention to the health condition of other passengers near you.If any passengers near you are coughing or having a fever, please report to the health workers aboard the train in a timely manner.

Do not wear more than one mask at a time.

Please wear a medical mask or masks with even higher protection levels.

Do not wear the same mask for more than 4 hours.

Please wash your hands using running water before eating. Alternatively, you can use hand sanitizer when there is no running water available.

Reduce your movements

Please do not go to another compartment unless necessary

To reduce the infection risk, when using public transportation such as trains, please do not leave your seat or go to another compartment unless necessary.

Take a PCR test upon arrival

Taking a PCR test upon arrival is an important measure to ensure smooth and safe travel while preventing imported cases. This measure effectively enables early detection and early handling of COVID-19 cases. Passengers are asked to voluntarily abide by this measure.
