69 GDD enterprises named Guangzhou's to-be-listed enterprises

Sixty-nine enterprises in Guangzhou Development District were included on the list of the top 100 to-be-listed enterprises and the backup top 100 list in Guangzhou, accounting for 35 percent of the total number of to-be-listed enterprises in the city.

This was announced at a press conference on Sept 27, which was guided by the Guangzhou municipal science and technology bureau and hosted by Guangzhou Industrial Investment Group.

In recent years, GDD has continued to cultivate high-tech enterprises and helped them expand. To date, the total number of listed high-tech enterprises in the district has reached 51, accounting for around half of the city's listed high-tech enterprises.

GDD insists that enterprises are the main body of innovation, and has successively issued a series of support policies to cultivate and expand technology enterprises. To date, there are more than 40,000 technology enterprises and more than 2,200 high-tech enterprises in the district.

In 2021, GDD's R&D investment exceeded 25.5 billion yuan ($3.53 billion), accounting for 6.14 percent of the district's GDP. It is the first area in the city with R&D investment intensity exceeding 6 percent, reaching the international advanced levels. The output value of its high-tech industries above designated size accounts for more than 70 percent of the city's total.

In the future, GDD will provide enterprises with diversified and precise services. In addition, it will make full use of the multi-level capital market to support the high-quality development of technology enterprises, promote the deep integration of innovative and industrial chains, as well as help build a new dual-cycle development pattern.
