Notification of One Positive Case Detected in the Regular PCR Testing Conducted for People with High Exposure Risks

Yuexiu District issued a notice on September 19 about a positive COVID-19 case detected in the regular PCR testing conducted for people with high exposure risks in Guangzhou Railway Station. According to the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, the patient is a train cleaner who was probably infected when cleaning trains coming to Guangzhou from regions with COVID-19 cases. The patient has been transferred to No.8 People's Hospital of Guangzhou and diagnosed as an asymptomatic case. Based on COVID-19 containment requirements and experts' views, temporary lock-down measures will be imposed on some areas in Kuangquan Subdistrict starting today. The details are as follows:

Notification of One Positive Case Detected in the Regular PCR Testing Conducted for People with High Exposure Risks

On September 18, Guangzhou Railway Station detected one positive COVID-19 case in the regular PCR testing conducted for people with high exposure risks. Upon receipt of the report, Yuexiu District COVID-19 Control and Prevention Command Center immediately launched an emergency plan that includes epidemiological investigation, contact tracing, PCR testing, control and management of key sites, and disinfection. We hereby notify the details of the case as follows:

The patient is a 56-year-old woman who lives in Kuangquan Subdistrict of Yuexiu District. She has been transferred to No.8 People's Hospital of Guangzhou for isolation and treatment.

Based on COVID-19 containment requirements and experts' views, temporary lock-down measures will be imposed on the area in Kuangquan Subdistrict encircled by railway along Yaotai West Street in the east, the edge of Guangzhou Passenger Train Technical Station on Sanjiaohu Alley in the west, Guangyuan West Road in the south, Tongdewei Overpass in the north starting from September 19. Residents of this area are strictly forbidden from leaving the zone and deliveries must be collected on a staggered schedule. Temporary containment measures will be dynamically adjusted in line with the views of disease control experts and the epidemiological situation.
