Longhu Street in Guangzhou's Huangpu district is in the process of applying for an international community pilot project that represents the district, local media outlets reported on Aug 19.

Guangzhou is now selecting 10 to 15 communities for the pilot project and they are expected to be an important fulcrum for Guangzhou's high-level opening up by 2035.

Located in the core area of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), Longhu Street covers an area of 45.73 square kilometers and enjoys a superior geographic position as well as convenient transportation.

The street is home to 17 neighborhoods, four comprehensive commercial complexes, eight industrial parks, 8,377 economic entities and 156 enterprises above designated size, presenting a typical pattern of urban commercial and residential areas.

The street has also attracted 173 foreign-funded enterprises (including Sino-foreign joint ventures) and a large number of international talents to work and live in the area due to its convenient living environment and supporting facilities.
