Business magazine Fortune recently released its latest Global 500 list, in which 17 companies from Guangdong province were shortlisted, including four companies from Guangzhou. Among them, China Southern Power Grid ranked 89th on the list, jumping two places from last year's list.

China Southern Power Grid is a central enterprise under the supervision of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, with its headquarters located in Guangzhou's Huangpu district. It is a super-large State-owned key backbone enterprise related to national security and the lifeline of the national economy.

In 2021, China Southern Power Grid achieved an operating income of 671.6 billion yuan ($99.4 billion), a year-on-year increase of 16.4 percent. Its total assets were valued at 1.08 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.7 percent.

Relying on the solid industrial foundation and strong policy support, Huangpu district, also known as Guangzhou Development District, has become a hot spot for investment and entrepreneurship.

In the future, Guangzhou Development District will continue to select high-quality leading institutions to focus on supporting and promoting the development and agglomeration of enterprises in key industries like biomedicine, new energy and new materials, as well as new generation information technology.

In addition, the district will enhance investment services from the aspects of policy consultation, capital investment, and channel connection.
