Guangzhou reports 4 local confirmed COVID-19 cases

On August 7, Guangzhou reported 4 local confirmed cases and one local asymptomatic case. All of them returned to Guangzhou from outside of Guangdong Province.

The 1st patient is a 21-year-old Chinese man who lives on Shilian Road, Shiqi Town, Panyu District. He returned to Guangzhou from another province on August 5. He sought for medical attention at the fever clinic of Panyu No.8 People's Hospital on the evening of August 6 due to fever and tested positive for COVID-19. He tested positive again in the morning of August 7 and was transferred to Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment.

The 2nd patient is a 39-year-old man.

The 3rd patient is a 65-year-old man.

The 4th patient is a 72-year-old man.

The asymptomatic patient is a 38-year-old woman.

The 2nd – 4th patients and the asymptomatic patient are close contacts of a confirmed case outside Guangdong Province. They returned to Guangzhou together on August 6 and had been transferred to a quarantine hotel for medical observation upon arrival. They were transferred to Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment after testing positive for COVID-19.
