Guangzhou's Huangpu district ranked 7th among China's top 100 districts in 2022, according to a report on the high-quality economic development of domestic districts released by CCID Consulting's Urban Economic Research Center on July 27.

Using 23 indexes, the study investigated the districts based on the indicators of economic strength, growth momentum, internal support, level of regional function, and shared development.

Huangpu's industrial construction of "three clusters and two highlands" has been fully rolled out, and the annual construction investment has exceeded 80 billion yuan ($12 billion).

Local enterprises have been benefitting from an increasingly optimized business environment as Huangpu launched 125 measures in 23 fields this year to upgrade the "Huangpu Smile" business brand. "Smile" stands for systematization, marketization, internationalization, legalization and efficient facilitation.

Huangpu has formulated a strategic sci-tech innovation platform cluster that is currently leading the country. In addition, over 30 key sci-tech projects including the National Center of Technology Innovation for Display were launched throughout the year.

Five public primary and secondary schools, three recently opened hospitals, a marine culture museum, and other growing civilian livelihood facilities have improved the quality of life for locals in the area.
