The China National Intellectual Property Administration announced the winners of the 23rd China Patent Award on July 26, in which Guangzhou's Huangpu district won a record-high 36 awards, including two gold awards, one silver award, as well as 33 excellence awards.
The China Patent Award is the most authoritative "national patent award" in the country. It is also an important mark reflecting independent innovation ability, as well as the transformation efficiency of scientific and technological achievements.
Huangpu has achieved excellent results in winning this award, which is an affirmation of its scientific and technological innovation ability, as well as its intellectual property work.
In recent years, Huangpu district has actively promoted the deep integration of intellectual property with technology, economy, and industry, continuously making breakthroughs in the field of intellectual property.
From January to June, 12,590 patents were authorized in the district, including 3,025 invention patents, and 12,089 trademark registrations, with a year-on-year increase of 2.07 percent, as well as 422 PCT international patent applications, ranking first in Guangzhou.
As of June this year, the number of valid invention patents in the district was 25,250, a year-on-year increase of 28.12 percent, and the number of invention patents per 10,000 personnel reached 210.
From January to May 2022, Huangpu district has accumulated 1,120 patent transfers, a year-on-year increase of 23.1 percent.
Huangpu's protection of intellectual property rights and its transformation of scientific and technological achievements are important reasons why the district won so many awards this time.
