Huangpu lychees exported overseas for 1st time

Huangpu lychees are exported to Singapore for the first time.

The departure ceremony for Huangpu lychees that are being exported to Singapore for the first time was held in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) in Huangpu district on July 23.

About 1,000 kilograms of lychees were picked and transported to Singapore immediately.

This is the first batch of lychees exported from Huangpu district to RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) member countries after the RCEP came into effect this year. It has become another measure for Huangpu district to utilize the RCEP to promote the high-quality development of agricultural product trade.

Huangpu district has a history of lychee planting that stretches more than 1,000 years, with over 20,000 mu (1,333 hectares) in the lychee planting area, as well as more than 20 traditional lychee varieties.

The first batch of Huangpu lychees exported to Singapore on July 23 will be mainly sold on a fresh food e-commerce platform in Singapore.
