Shenjing ancient village is located on Changzhou Island of Huangpu district.

Located on Huangpu's Changzhou Island, Shenjing ancient village preserves many ancient houses and ancestral halls that are from the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and the early Republic of China period (1912-1949).

Shenjing village was named after a 10-meter deep ancient well.

In the village, ancient ancestral halls like the Ling's Ancestral Hall have high architectural value. As a temple of Ling's ancestors, the hall was created with exquisite craftsmanship, such as a herringbone volcanic wall and a gray-plastic dragon boat ridge, as well as two stone guardrails in the middle hall. It is now the biggest and the most well-preserved examples of ancient architecture in Shenjing village.

Built in 1895, the cusp-shaped Shenjing Wen Pagoda has a brick and wood attic structure. Standing at a height of about 18 meters, the tower has three floors. It was built to honor the prestige of the village, as well as to express hope that future generations would be prominent in their fields.

Shenjing village is also famous for its local food, such as Shenjing Roast Goose, which is roasted with lychee charcoals for 50 minutes to make the skin taste crispy.
