Construction progresses on three Huangpu metro lines

Progresses have recently been made on the construction of three Huangpu metro lines.

The Qingfeng Station to Huanggang Station section of the second phase of Metro Line 13 has recently been connected.

The second phase of Line 13 runs east-west, starting at Chaoyang Station and ending at Yuzhu Station. The line will connect several key developing areas, such as the Baiyun Lake area, Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou International Financial City, and Huangpu Lingang Economic Zone.

At present, 49 percent of the civil works of the project have been completed. Three stations have been capped and 19 stations are undergoing civil construction, with work also progressing on the Yuzhu Station parking lot and the Huanggang Station parking lot.

In addition, 60 percent of the civil works on the east extension section of Metro Line 5 have been completed. The line stretches 9.76 kilometers from Wenchong Station to Huangpu Passenger Station, with a designated operation speed of 90 km per hour. It consists of six stations, including Shuanggang and Xiayuan. 

Among the six stations, three stations have been capped with electromechanical construction underway, while the other three stations are undergoing civil construction. For the second phase of Metro Line 7, 73 percent of the civil works have been completed. The line starts at University Town South Station and ends at Shuixi Station, with a total length of 22 km and 80 km/h designated operation speed, all of which are fully underground.

It has 11 stations, including Shenjing, Changzhou, and Hongshengsha, of which seven are transfer stations.

Of the 11 stations, four have been capped and are undergoing electromechanical construction, while seven are undergoing civil construction.

The Jitang Station parking lot on this line is also undergoing civil construction.
