The Guangzhou-Hong Kong Science and Technology Cooperation Park in Huangpu district has achieved remarkable outcomes since its establishment in April 2021.
The park was built on the basis of Guangzhou Yunpu Industrial Zone and has helped drive the zone's transformation and high-quality development.
To date, the park has 152 industrial enterprises above designated size, of which 84 are hi-tech ones, accounting for 59.1 percent of the total. A total of 119 sci-tech enterprises settled in the park in 2021, while the number of licensed patents of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 2,068.
The park has devoted 2.76 billion yuan ($411.13 million) to research and development, with 5,654 employees in the park engaged in R&D.

Continuous sci-tech innovation has also boosted the rapid development of the local high-end manufacturing industry since April 2021. The park has been attaching great importance to the development of enterprises in the sector, such as smart equipment and financial service, attracting 58 high-quality enterprises to settle in the park with a total registered capital of 1.01 billion yuan.
Six enterprises have been named national specialized, characteristic, and emerging enterprises, while seven others have been listed as provincial specialized, characteristic, and emerging enterprises. In addition, 31 local enterprises have been recognized as national hi-tech enterprises in 2021.
Support has been given to the establishment of academician working teams and big science equipment by the park since its establishment. In addition, industrial chain sci-tech innovation bases with great influence on the national economy will be built, as well as incubators for industrial chains.
It is expected that several strategic emerging industrial clusters with complete industrial chains and great influence will be formulated in the park to help attract investment from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
