Huangpu bags 21 provincial sci-tech awards

Guangzhou's Huangpu district bagged 21 awards at the Guangdong Science and Technology Award Conference, which was held in Guangzhou on April 15.

Nineteen of Huangpu's awards are Guangdong Science & Technology Progress Awards and the other two are for technological innovation. 

The Huangpu-based Huankai Microbial participated in a project on the establishment and innovative application of China food microbiological safety science database, and the project won one of the only three grand prizes at the Guangdong Science & Technology Progress Awards.

The project focused on the key technical bottlenecks in China's food microbiological safety, resulting in a 90 percent reduction in microbial contamination in food. It is projected to significantly improve China's food microbiological safety while also assisting the country's rural vitalization.
