Supermarkets in Huangpu are in adequate supply.

Despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, stores and supermarkets in Guangzhou's Huangpu district have ample food supplies for inhabitants, according to local media reports on April 11.

The Huangpu commerce bureau has assigned eight special working teams to closely monitor the supply of basic living supplies such as meat, vegetables, oil, and eggs at eight main supermarkets in the district.

These eight supermarkets had 16 metric tons of grain, 1.5 tons of poultry meat, 0.9 tons of salt, 2.9 tons of pork, 1.6 tons of eggs, and 10 tons of vegetables on the shelf for sale on April 9, and they still had high inventory balances after they closed.

Shabu Farmers' Market in Nangang Street community is the largest of its kind in Nangang, with a total area of about 70,000 square meters. Every day, it sells more than 60 tons of vegetables, as well as 120 to 200 pigs, and over 3,000 chickens.

Since April 10, all supermarkets in the district have increased the supply of basic living materials every day in response to residents' increased purchasing demands. For example, grain supply has been increased to 50 tons per day from 16 tons previously, and the daily vegetable supply has been increased by 3 tons to 13 tons.

In addition, officials from the Huangpu market supervision bureau will keep a close eye on the supply of living materials and price fluctuations, and especially on basic living materials.
