Construction on 2 Huangpu schools progress

Construction of two education institutions in Guangzhou's Huangpu district has been moving forward, local media outlets reported on March 3.

Guangzhou Experimental High School will complete the demolition of external wall scaffolding in June and is expected to start operation in August.

It is built according to national demonstrative high school standards, with a total area of 103,000 square meters and a floorage of 180,457 sq m, including a 29,300-sq-m basement area. It will open 90 classes, with the capacity to hold 4,500 students. 

The China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City campus of the Affiliated High School of South China Normal University is currently in the midst of construction work on its basement, which is expected to be finished in December. 

Construction on the main structure of the school will be carried out in the second and third quarters of the year. The first phase of the school is expected to be able to start operation in July 2023. The school is located at the south starting area of CSGKC, north of Xinxi Fourth Road and west of Jishu First Road. 

It is expected to open 60 classes, serving a capacity of 3,000 high school students, and 18 classes for 900 middle school students. Enrollment will start in 2023.
