Guangzhou updates COVID-19 policy for Shenzhen, Dongguan

Dear residents,

In recent weeks, Shenzhen and Dongguan reported a number of local COVID-19 cases. In order to strengthen COVID-19 control and prevention efforts, cut off the further spread of COVID-19, and safeguard people's health and safety, the Guangzhou center for disease control and prevention urges residents who travelled to/from Dongguan and Shenzhen in the past 14 days to do the following:

I. Please report to your community (village), employer or hotel you are staying at immediately upon arriving in Guangzhou. You will need to work with relevant staff to implement health administration measures, including filling in a health notification document and undergoing a health inquiry. You will also need to present your health code for verification, complete a PCR test, and go through 14 days of self-health monitoring.

If you are identified as a person with a travel history to medium- or high-risk areas or a person who has been exposed to infection risks after the epidemiological investigation, you will be subject to health administration measures, such as a 14-day quarantine at a designated facility, a 14-day home quarantine, or a three-day health monitoring at home plus a 11-day self-health-monitoring. 

II. Commuters travelling between Shenzhen/Dongguan and Guangzhou or temporary visitors travelling to Guangzhou for business or leisure are advised to hold negative PCR test reports obtained within 48 hours of arrival. In addition, you are required to report to your community (village), employer or hotel you are staying at to complete relevant health administration measures.

III. You should immediately report to your neighborhood committee (village committee), employer or hotel you are staying at if you experience symptoms like fever, dry cough, fatigue, smell and taste disorders, stuffy nose, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, muscle pain, and diarrhea. You must also seek professional medical advice at the nearest fever clinic. You should report to the doctor your travel history, wear facial masks during the diagnosis process, and avoid using public transportation when traveling to the fever clinic.

IV. Wear personal protection. Please wear facial masks throughout your journey to Guangzhou. Pay attention to your personal hygiene and practice social distancing. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth or nose with unclean hands. Avoid visiting crowded or enclosed spaces with bad ventilation.

In addition, people with a travel history to Mianyang or Deyang in Sichuan province should report to their local community

People who travelled to/from Mianyang or Deyang in Sichuan province from Feb 20, 2022 and people whose Suikang Codes are red or yellow must report to their community (village), employer or hotel they are staying at to go through community health administration measures.

Deyang, Sichuan province:

Deyang, Sichuan province reported two COVID-19 cases on Feb 24. One was the close contact of a local COVID-19 patient, and the other was the close contact of a local asymptomatic COVID-19 patient.

Temporary address: Zhongxin village, Sanshui town, Guanghan. Tested positive for COVID-19 on Feb 24, diagnosed as an asymptomatic COVID-19 patient. Already transferred to a designated hospital for quarantine and treatment.

Guangzhou suspends certain bus routes travelling between Guangzhou and Dongguan

In line with the COVID-19 control and prevention measures of Dongguan, the Guangzhou transportation authority suspended the service of the following bus routes on Feb 25, 2022. Resumption of service will be notified separately.

1. The terminal station for 368, 369, and 378 will be moved to Youyi Road. These buses will not travel into Dongguan.

2. Zengcheng 75 and Nansha K6 will be temporarily out of service.

3. Passenger coaches between Guangzhou and Dongguan will be temporarily out of service.

The Guangzhou traffic and transportation bureau reminds residents to follow the aforementioned traffic control measures and closely follow official information on COVID-19. Residents are also advised to wear facial masks, present health codes, and have their temperature taken when necessary. Support and cooperation from residents are much appreciated.
