Guangzhou's Huangpu district prepared a bevy of entertainment options for the revelers of the Lantern Festival.
Celebrated on the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar, when a full moon appears in the night sky, the Lantern Festival symbolizes unity and perfection. Its arrival marks the end of Spring Festival celebrations.
Huangpu's residents can participate in an online lantern riddle solving activity on the public WeChat account of Huangpu Library: hplibrary from Feb 10 to Feb 16 with their reader card. Participants should answer 25 questions within eight minutes, and the top 25 participants will be rewarded with novels, calendars, cushions, or mask storage bags.
An on-site lantern riddle guessing activity will also be held at Gate No 1 of Wanda Plaza in Nangang sub-district today with prizes available to be won.
Nature lovers can also admire the cherry blossoms at Chuangye Park and the blooming rapeseed flowers in Jingxia village for a leisure getaway.
Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the pristine mountains and water sceneries along Guangdong's first national fitness hiking trail in Changling sub-district. There are many homestays available near the hiking trail for dating or parties.
