A tram car with tiger elements was put into use in Guangzhou's Huangpu district on Jan 26 to mark the upcoming Chinese New Year, also known as the Year of the Tiger.
The tram car adopts red as its dominant color. It is supported with a caricaturized tiger at the windows of each wagon, while featuring elements of Chinese knots, red lanterns, fireworks, and the Chinese character "福" (meaning "happiness" or "blessing").

The launch ceremony of the tiger-themed tram car was organized by the Guangzhou Development District Commutations Investment Group.
To create an enchanting festival atmosphere, calligraphers Ou Jie, Wu Shuibiao, Ou Zhi, and Tang Jiawen were also invited to write spring couplets for local residents.
