Huangpu, Nansha join forces

Huangpu and Nansha districts signed a cooperation agreement across nine fields on Jan 28 to propel Guangzhou's high-quality development. The fields under the agreement include transportation, scientific and technological innovation, modern industrial system, business environment, and talent introduction.

More express roads will be built between the core areas of the two districts, and rapid rail transits will be built between the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) and Nansha. Both districts will also launch ferry routes to Hong Kong and Macao and launch helicopter routes among the cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Coordinated development of the CSGKC, Guangzhou Science City, and Nansha Science City in key industries like artificial intelligence, intelligent connected vehicles, new-generation information technology, semiconductor and integrated circuit, biomedicine and big health, new energy, new materials, and marine economy will be promoted.

The sci-tech enterprises and scientific research institutions in Huangpu and Nansha are encouraged to share large scientific equipment, scientific research data, professional technological service platforms, and other resources.

Huangpu and Nansha will strive for national policy support in sci-tech innovation, industrial development, market access, and opening up. The pioneering policy innovations of Nansha Free Trade Zone will be promoted to CSGKC.

In addition, the two districts will enhance the cooperation in the introduction of international top talent teams and construction of Hong Kong and Macao youth innovation and entrepreneurship bases. Mechanisms will be established for think tank resourcing and official exchange.
