Huangpu markets ready for Spring Festival rush

As the Spring Festival is around the corner, the markets in Guangzhou's Huangpu district have prepared for the holiday rush by stocking up on a variety of festival commodities.

Dongxinghui Wholesale Market in Nan'gang has four floors offering a wide variety of daily necessities, including grain, oil, vegetable, fruits, flowers, Spring Festival couplets, and red envelopes. Many residents of Guangzhou's Zengcheng district and Dongguan also come all the way to Dongxinghui for Spring Festival purchases.

Dashadi Commercial Street is also brimming with a festival atmosphere. The small shops, chain stores, and wholesales markets along the street are offering a wide variety of commodities, such as dried fruits, nuts, seafood, as well as sausages.

Customers are advised to make a shopping list in advance to minimize their stay in the markets and to use electronic payments to avoid contact. It is also recommended to not touch frozen food directly.
