Huangpu announces top 10 livelihood projects in 2022

The top 10 livelihood projects of Guangzhou's Huangpu district in 2022 have been released at the second session of the 2nd Huangpu District People's Congress which closed on Jan 22.

This year, Huangpu will build four primary and secondary schools to enroll an additional 9,000 students. It will also add four new kindergartens to enroll 1,000 extra preschoolers.

The first phase of the Affiliated Women and Children's Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University will come into operation with 500 patient beds.

The second session of the 2nd Huangpu District People's Congress closes on Jan 22.

Local government services will become more convenient with the promotion of 24-hour self-service areas and offering of services during the holidays.

In terms of transportation, Huangpu will complete the construction of five roads, renovate 11 roads, and launch the construction of 32 roads in 2022. The non-motor vehicle lanes of 34 roads will be upgraded with a total length of 97.9 kilometers.

The district will host 100 online and offline public-welfare job fairs to help 3,500 people find jobs.

On the cultural front, five public libraries and branches of cultural halls will be built with 300 cultural activities to be held.

Three small parks will be added to Huangpu and 5,208 old or famous trees across the district will be registered for better protection.

Micro-renovation of five old residential communities will be launched. The renovation of shared water facilities in 300 old residential communities will be completed. Sixty old residential communities will be installed with elevators.

In addition, Huangpu will build 2,800 affordable rental housing and accelerate the construction of relocation houses to push forward the renovation of old villages.
