GDD rated first in business environment convenience

Guangzhou Development District (GDD) was rated first in terms of business environment convenience, according to a report on the high-quality development of national economic and technological development zones in 2021.

The report was published by the 21st Century Economic Research Institute recently. It assessed the business environment convenience of the top 30 national economic and technological development zones in a number of areas, such as foreign trade value, as well as the number of newly settled enterprises and new employees.

GDD stood out in the assessment with a streamlined administrative examination and approval system, efficient and considerate government services, as well as high-level opening up.

For instance, the district has upgraded to a 3.0 version of its "Trust Construction" program to reward enterprises with good credit and safety records. It has taken the lead in the province to allow enterprises to enjoy certain preferential policies without having to apply for them. At its fastest, the entire business registration process takes merely half a day in GDD.

Moreover, GDD allows for Hong Kong, Macao, Singaporean, Israeli, and European investors for cross-border business registration. It is also active in pushing forward the mutual recognition of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao intellectual property.
