Huangpu summarizes achievements, outlines development goals

The second session of the 2nd Huangpu District Congress of the Communist Party of China was held on Jan 12 to summarize the achievements made in 2021 and outline the development goals for 2022.

The district was rated among the top three of China's districts in terms of industrial development. It also ranked first among national economic and technological development zones in terms of scientific and technological innovation capability.

A world-class cluster of strategic emerging industries is taking shape in Huangpu, with the construction of major industrial projects invested in by Xpeng Motors, Hyundai, BeiGene, and Akeso making significant progress last year.

The second session of the 2nd Huangpu District Congress of the Communist Party of China is held on Jan 12.

To optimize the local environment, Huangpu began to foster a "Smile" business brand that stands for systematization, marketization, internationalization, legalization, and efficient facilitation. It also released a list of the first 33 preferential policies that enterprises can enjoy without needing to apply for them, as well as upgraded the Trust Construction program to reward enterprises with good credit and safety records in 2021.

This year, the district will strive for the scaled development of emerging industries, the accelerated development of the modern service sector, the high-quality development of State-owned assets and enterprises, as well as high efficiency in its fixed-asset investment.

More than 110 high-quality projects are expected to settle in Huangpu this year, of which at least six boast an investment of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.57 billion). Twenty projects are expected to begin operation.
