New hospital to tackle occupational diseases in Huangpu

The main structure of the Guangzhou Twelfth People's Hospital's Huangpu campus was topped off recently after around 14 months of construction.

With a total floor area of 141,200 square meters, the new campus is located south of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Coastal Expressway and west of Danshuikeng Road. It will be built to 3A-grade (the highest of China's three-tier grading system) standards and focus on the diagnosis and treatment of occupational diseases.

The main structure of the Guangzhou Twelfth People's Hospital's Huangpu campus is topped off.

The hospital will also engage in clinical teaching and scientific research, the monitoring, testing and medical rescue of toxic and harmful substances, and the guidance and training of grassroots health institutions. 

Construction is divided into two phases. The first phase features a floor space of 123,700 sq m, of which 78,000 sq m are aboveground and 45,700 are underground. It will be able to provide 600 patient beds and receive more than 3,000 patients daily.

Once the project completes construction in 2023, it will benefit millions of residents in eastern Guangzhou with its outstanding services, technologies, and intelligence.
