Huangpu holds Guangdong Game Industry Annual Conference

The 2021 Guangdong Game Industry Annual Conference was held in Guangzhou's Huangpu district on Jan 5, during which the 2021 reports on the province's game and electronic sports industries were released.

The operating revenue of Guangdong's game industry is expected to reach 232.27 billion yuan ($36.44 billion) in 2021, accounting for 78.7 percent of China's total.

Meanwhile, the revenue of Guangdong's electronic sports industry was recorded at 126.63 billion yuan in 2021, accounting for 73.6 percent of China's total.

The 2021 Guangdong Game Industry Annual Conference is held in Guangzhou's Huangpu district on Jan 5.

The 2021 Golden Diamond awards ceremony was also held during the event. Eighty outstanding game enterprises and projects stood out from 233 candidates and received awards in nine categories.

Of note, 13 enterprises were cited this year for fulfilling their social responsibility in areas such as cultural inheritance, poverty relief, rural rejuvenation and environmental protection.

The annual conference was hosted by the Guangdong Entertainment & Game Industry Association under the guidance of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province and the Guangdong Press and Publication Administration.
