GDD hosts innovation and entrepreneurship competition finals

The national finals of the 10th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition took place in Guangzhou Development District (GDD) on Dec 28 and 29.

Fifty enterprises from high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, new energy, new energy vehicles, energy conservation and environment protection, new-generation information technology, and biomedicine pitted against each other during the national finals.

GDD hosts the national finals of the 10th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition.

Guangzhou Magpie Pharmaceuticals won the second prize at the growth group, and Liturex (Guangzhou) won the third prize of the growth group, both of which are part of the GDD enterprises. In addition, three GDD enterprises from the biomedicine and new-generation information technology sectors ranked among the top 50 in innovation and entrepreneurship.

This year's participating enterprises demonstrated a strong independent innovation capability. Altogether, they owned more than 200,000 intellectual property rights, and over 110,000 patents, of which 90.5 percent were independently developed.

Founded in 2012, the China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition is the largest, finest, and most widespread competition in the country. It has attracted more than 240,000 enterprises and teams to participate, becoming a strong engine to China's economic development and industrial transformation and upgrading.
