14th Luogang Xiangxue Cultural Tourism Festival cancelled

Updated : 2021-12-27

The 14th Luogang Xiangxue Cultural Tourism Festival has been cancelled to avoid mass gatherings amid the complex pandemic situation, according to a public notice released on Dec 24.

Luogang Xiangxue is an intangible cultural heritage of Guangdong province and one of the Eight Views of Guangzhou. Every winter, vast stretches of plum blossoms burst throughout Luogang. The white petals drift in the wind like snowflakes, filling the air with a sweet fragrance, which is often referred to as "Luogang Xiangxue" (aromatic snow).

Although the Luogang Xiangxue Cultural Tourism Festival has been cancelled, locals and tourists can still admire the plum blossoms at Luogang Xiangxue Park. It has been forecasted that the plum blossoms will be in full bloom by Dec 31 and the flowering period will last for around 14 days.

In addition, the Civic Park has also nearly 40,000 square meters of plum blossoms, which have entered their initial flowering stage.
