GDD hosts national IT innovation, entrepreneurship competition

The national face-off of the 10th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition in the new-generation information technology category was held in the Guangzhou Development District (GDD) on Dec 23 and 24.

During the competition, 429 enterprises were divided into four start-up groups and 10 growth groups. They brought a bevy of projects involving robot applications, urban security and intelligent rescue, and the digital economy.

Many judges noted that this year's projects were of high quality, featured core technology, and had high marketization efficiency. Fourteen enterprises stood out from the competition to crack the national finals, among which one was from GDD.

In line with the national requirements for epidemic prevention and control, GDD hosted the national competition online relying on "black technologies" such as 360-degree cameras and omnidirectional microphones.

The China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition is the largest, highest-grade and most influential of its kind in the country. It is organized by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center under the guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.
