Huangpu section among most beautiful highways in Guangdong

The Guangzhou-Shantou Highway's Huangpu section has been selected as one of the 10 most beautiful national and provincial trunk highways in Guangdong province, according to the Department of Transport of Guangdong Province.

The Guangzhou-Shantou Highway spans 533.8 kilometers from Guangzhou's Tianhe district to Shantou's Haojiang district, and serves as an artery road connecting Guangzhou with eastern Guangdong and Fujian.

Huangpu launched the upgrading of the local highway section in 2020, which involved the construction of a 7-km cycling greenway, a landmark portal for China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), and 11 landscaped areas.

Not only does the section connect the Guangzhou International Bio Island, CSGKC, Guangzhou Science City and Lingang Economic Zone in the district, but it also facilitates travel from Huangpu to Guangzhou South Railway Station and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

In addition, the 23-km Huangpu section runs through four industrial parks, two production bases, and two scenic spots. Crops, horticultural products, livestock products, aquatic products and medicinal materials worth more than 70 million yuan ($11 million) are transported via the section.
