The Conghua-Huangpu Expressway has a total length of 61.71 kilometers and will cut the travel time between the two districts of Guangzhou to 40 minutes once it is completed.
The project is being built in two phases with a 39.5-km section of the first phase that links Guangzhou Second North Ring Highway with Guangzhou-Shantou Road, and is expected to be completed in 2023.
The 22.2-km second section will link Xuanxing village in Wenquan town with the first phase project in Huangdong.
After it opens to traffic, the expressway will help upgrade the expressway network in east Guangzhou and greatly reduce travel time between Conghua, Guangzhou Sino-Singapore Knowledge City and the Nansha Free Trade Port.
