Huangpu to make new progress in public health

Guangzhou's Huangpu district held a press conference on Nov 29, officially issuing the Measures for Strengthening the Modernization of Public Health Management System and Capacity.

Aiming to comprehensively improve the prevention, control and treatment capacity of the district and provide an institutional guarantee for people's health, the document proposes 16 reform measures in six areas, including strengthening the leadership of the CPC, strengthening the protection system, building a linkage mechanism, improving the guarantee foundation, forming a strong public health team, and enhancing scientific and technological support.

The document calls for building a public health emergency command center based on an efficient comprehensive command platform. Huangpu will also build a public health monitoring and early warning big data platform to realize timely monitoring, warning, analysis and judgment for high-risk areas and people.

The document mentioned that Huangpu should select a group of personnel with medical knowledge from government agencies, enterprises and public institutions and conduct regular training.

The document also calls for building a disease prevention and control system as well as a hierarchical medical treatment system.

It also proposes increasing investment in scientific research in the field of infectious disease prevention and control as well as public health.
