Guangzhou's Huangpu district will begin offering free vaccinations against the human papillomavirus to school-age girls younger than 14 years old.
All local female students who have not yet been vaccinated can get the two-valent HPV vaccines with informed consent.
The two-valent HPV vaccine is designed to protect against Type 16 and Type 18 HPV, the two most common strains of the virus that can cause cervical cancer in women.
