Updated : 2021-10-21

The 8th China-Singapore Knowledge Forum was held in Guangzhou on Oct 20 with the theme "Fostering New Dual Circulation Development Paradigm, Exploring New Opportunities for China-Singapore Collaboration."

Loh Tuck Keat, consul general of Singapore in Guangzhou, said in his speech that Singapore and China have established diplomatic relations for 30 years and have always been close partners.

China's opening-up level is expected to be further elevated and cooperation with foreign countries will be further intensified under the Dual Circulation development pattern in which Chinese and foreign markets complement and reinforce each other with the domestic market as the mainstay. The development of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) will herald more mutually beneficial cooperation, Loh added.

Chen Zhiyong, deputy Party secretary of Huangpu, extended hopes that the CSGKC will become a top investment choice for Singapore enterprises to enter the Chinese market, the most important fulcrum for them to participate in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area construction, and a link between the Greater Bay Area inner circulation and China-ASEAN outer circulation.

Zheng Yong, director of CSGKC's cooperative affairs office, presented the vibrant industrial, transport and ecological development in CSGKC at the forum and noted that more preferential policies and heavyweight projects will settle in the area.

Government officials, think tank experts and heads of China-Singapore cooperative projects discussed the new opportunities and challenges in China-Singapore cooperation under the Dual Circulation development pattern in two salons.
