4 tunnels to connect Huangpu with other districts across Pearl River

The travel from Guangzhou's Huangpu to Haizhu, Tianhe and Panyu districts will become increasingly convenient with the construction of four tunnels that cross the Pearl River.

Construction of the Yuzhu Tunnel's first phase will begin this year and be completed in 2025. The main line will stretch 2.59 kilometers across Haizhu, Tianhe and Huangpu, of which 2.45 km will be a tunnel.

The second phase of the tunnel will come under construction in 2024 and be ready for traffic in 2027. It will span 1.5 km from Hulin Road in the north and emerge into the first phase in the south.

Construction of the Shayuzhou Tunnel between Huangpu and Panyu will last from 2023 to 2027. Its main line stretches 5.07 km, of which 3.44 km is a tunnel. Once it opens to traffic, the tunnel will facilitate the travel of Dajisha, Hongshengsha and Changzhou islands as a roadway.

Moreover, work on the 7.08-km tunnel that connects Panyu's Hualong town and western Huangpu will begin in 2023 and be completed in 2027.
