Updated : 2021-09-29

The fifth China (Southern Beauty Valley, Huangpu) Cosmetics International Summit Forum opened in Guangzhou on Sept 27.

The event consisted of a main forum and 12 sub-forums. Experts like Yao Xinsheng, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at Jinan University, and Ling Peixue, an academician from the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences and director of Shandong University's National Glycoengineering Research Center, delivered more than 80 reports.

Guangzhou's Huangpu district has recorded more than 40 billion yuan ($6 billion) in cosmetics output value, accounting for about 52 percent of Guangzhou's total. It is home to 66 licensed cosmetics manufacturers and 377 cosmetics trade enterprises including industry leaders like Procter & Gamble, Blue Moon and Amway.

The district earmarked 473,000 square meters from its core area to build a Beauty Valley, which is comprised of two industrial clusters for high-end manufacturing as well as high-end R&D and offices. Construction of the valley is divided into three phases and the first phase will begin operation in 2023.
