Luogang Red Cross Hospital becomes CSGKC Hospital

The Luogang Red Cross Hospital in Guangzhou's Huangpu district has been renamed as China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) Hospital this month.

The first comprehensive hospital in southern CSGKC, the facility has internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatric, psychiatry, emergency, preventive medicine and healthcare, imaging, laboratory medicine, and mental health prevention and treatment departments.

It boasts a high level of medical treatments of common and frequently-occurring diseases related to internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatric, and psychiatry while exceling in the treatment of refractory diseases related to surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, and psychiatry.

Huangpu invested around 300 million yuan ($46 million) to renovate and upgrade the second phase of the hospital in November 2020, which involved the demolition of dormitory buildings one through seven and the power distribution room, construction of the psychiatric building and corridors, as well as renovation of the comprehensive, rehabilitation, and supply buildings.

Once the renovation is completed in December 2023, the hospital will have a total floorage of 44,400 square meters and be equipped with 400 beds.
