Heavyweight projects piggyback key industries in CSGKC

Updated : 2021-08-24

The key industries of the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) are striving with the advancement of heavyweight projects since the Overall Development Plan for CSGKC (2020-35) was released a year ago.

The first phase of China Nano Valley has come into operation on July 1 and will be developed into a nanotechnology center with global influence. It will bring in key projects in nano biomimetic materials, genetic engineering, nano photoelectric devices, carbon nano devices, new nano materials, metamaterials, and perovskite technology while cultivating a group of high-tech innovation enterprises.

A world leading bio-pharmaceutical industrial cluster has taken shape led by projects of academicians like Wang Xiaodong and Shi Yigong. Construction of BeiGene's fourth plant is in full swing, which will help CSGKC become the largest production base of anti-cancer medicines in Asia.

The integrated circuit industry has embraced the settlement of leading semiconductor enterprises such as Skyverse Technology and Guangdong Hinno-Tech. The Hinno-Tech's headquarters project came under construction in June, and anticipates an output value of 2.73 billion yuan ($421.6 million) in the third year of operation.

In addition, remarkable progress has been made in Huangpu's intelligent connected vehicle industry as Baidu launched the world's largest autonomous driving platform Mobility as a Service in December 2020 in the district.
