Huangpu ranks among top 10 domestic districts

Guangzhou's Huangpu district ranked seventh among the top 100 domestic districts this year, according to a list released by CCID Consulting's Urban Economic Research Center on Aug 17.

Directly affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the consulting company conducted the assessment based on five dimensions: economic strength, growth momentum, internal support ability, regional function and shared development.

Huangpu demonstrated a strong economic growth momentum in the first half of this year as its regional GDP increased by 16.1 percent year on year to 190.9 billion yuan ($29.4 billion).

In addition, the district's total output value of industrial enterprises above designated size exceeded 400 billion yuan for the first time, and fix-asset investment surpassed 90 billion yuan for the first time.

Local enterprises benefit from an increasingly optimized business environment as Huangpu launched 168 measures this year to foster a "Huangpu Smile" business brand, with "Smile" standing for systematization, marketization, internationalization, legalization and efficient facilitation.

Residents enjoy a higher quality of life with a convenient transport network, an abundance of educational resources and the formation of a 15-minute medical service circle in urban areas and a 30-minute medical service circle in rural areas.
