Huangpu hosts high-grade forum on nano science, technology

The Forum on Frontiers of Nano Science and Technology in Chemistry of the 21st Century & the 11th Chemistry Innovation and Development Forum was held in Guangzhou Development District (GDD) on July 31.

More than 20 academicians, and a great number of university scholars, delivered reports on nano biomedicine, smart devices, advanced materials and synthetic technology, and discussed the prospects and existing problems in respective fields.

Local high-level R&D institutions and leading enterprises in the nano sector were also invited to attend the forum, which focused on the frontier and bottleneck issues regarding fundamental science, technology and industrialization.

GDD hosts the Forum on Frontiers of Nano Science and Technology in Chemistry of the 21st Century on July 31.

The forum is the highest-level Chinese academic activity pertaining to science and technology. It was co-organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences' (CAS) Division of Chemistry and Academic Works and Publications Committee under the auspices of the Academic Divisions of CAS.

Chen Xuesi, an academician from the CAS Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, noted that the reason for hosting the forum in the GDD was that the rapid development and supportive policies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is beneficial for scientific and technological achievement transformation.

The high-grade forum, which attracted a large number of experts and scholars to gather in the GDD, will boost the district's efforts to establishing a national nano science and technology industrialization platform, and further improve the nano industrial system in the Greater Bay Area, said Zhao Yuliang, director of National Center for Nanoscience and Technology.
