Huangpu steps up business area construction

Updated : 2021-07-22

Guangzhou's Huangpu district will build eight high-end business centers, 63 community business centers, and 1,400 convenience store chains by 2030. The total business area will reach 7 million square meters.

With a planned business area of 3.5 million sq m, the eight high-end business centers will host more than 30 high-end business complexes and 36 high-end hotels with a four-star rating and above.

Each of the 63 community business centers will have at least one shopping center or business complex with more than 30,000 sq m, one characteristic business street, and one hotel chain or budget hotel.

The 1,400 convenience store chains will be mainly distributed in residential communities, at road intersections, edifices, industrial parks and scenic spots.

A three-tier commercial area will take shape. A top-tier commercial area is likely to be built in Guangzhou Science City, which will contain a five-star or super-five-star shopping center. The middle-tiered areas will bring in high-end supermarkets like Ole and Jusco, and the grassroots areas will center on community businesses and neighborhood centers.

Not only will these business areas serve the demands of more than 2 million residents and around 5 million businesspeople and tourists that visit the district annually, but they will also support Guangzhou's vision to become an international consumption center.
