In addition, construction of a Greater Bay Area ecological environment science center and a China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences research institute will be launched soon.

The central axis of Gaige Avenue in the Scientific and Educational Zone will feature shared facilities such as libraries, conference rooms, classrooms, canteens, labs, activity areas, an academic exchange center and an open square.

Construction of the area will be divided into three phases, and each will span three years. Development of the first phase will focus on the fundamental teaching and research facilities, while that of the second phase will be focused on transportation and supportive facilities. The third phase will focus on urban construction and industry-city integration.
