The collective groundbreaking ceremony of more than 1,000 Guangdong province's key projects for the second quarter of this year was held on June 28, with its main venue being China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC).
Thirty-one of the projects, with a combined investment of 127.1 billion yuan ($19.68 billion), began construction in Guangzhou's Huangpu district, along with 74 other projects valued at 18.2 billion yuan.
Shennan Circuits will invest 6 billion yuan in a flip-chip ball grid array package substrate project. Guangdong Hinno-Tech will launch a headquarters project for the R&D of "ajinomoto build-up film" carrier materials. The semiconductor project funded by Shenzhen ZhiCheng Semiconductor Materials will engage in the R&D and production of new materials such as silicon carbide and core components.
CSGKC is the main venue of the collective groundbreaking ceremony of more than 1,000 Guangdong province's key projects for the second quarter of this year.
The aforementioned three projects, plus four other integrated circuit projects, will all settle at the Bay Area Semiconductor Industrial Park, which covers 6.6 square kilometers in northern CSGKC.
The industrial park will become a benchmark of the provincial IC industry by 2025 with an annual operating revenue of more than 65 billion yuan. It will become a globally-influential core aggregated zone of the IC industry with an annual operating revenue of more than 300 billion yuan.
