Guangzhou's Huangpu district is being spruced up in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
CPC-related statues, cultural corridors, and rest stations have been built at Iron Army Spirit Park, Weimin Park, Chuangye Park, and Qilin Mountain Truth Park.
Nine parterres themed on "red boat sails", "pilot the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", and "ride the wind and waves" have been constructed in Guangzhou Science City, China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, Guangzhou International Bio Island and other significant venues.
Major exits and entrances, road intersections and landscape nodes in Huangpu have been decked out with a total of 78 floral installations.

The 16-kilometer greenbelt along the Guangzhou-Heyuan Expressway was upgraded in early May, as was the 13.7-km greenbelt along the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway. Construction of the greenbelts along Jiulong Avenue, Yongshun Avenue and the Guangzhou-Shantou Highway was completed in late May. Landscaping along 12 arterial roads and at 30 major nodes in Huangpu has been improved.
To date, 25,000 trees have been planted, of which 19,000 are flowering trees. About 500,000 square meters of green area has been upgraded, and the urban greenery coverage rate has exceeded 49.7 percent.
In addition, Huangpu has conducted refined maintenance on 7.6 million sq m of public green spaces, 120,000 streetside trees, 45,000 linear meters of bougainvillea glabra along the overpasses, and 6,000 sq m of vertical green space.
