Government departments of Huangpu district have come together to fight the COVID-19 resurgence in Guangzhou.
The local finance bureau allocated 193 million yuan ($29.92 million) for anti-epidemic efforts including COVID-19 vaccination, nucleic acid testing, operation of quarantine hotels, and the establishment of a long-term emergency supply reserve.
The Huangpu development and reform bureau strengthened supervision of the supply and price of grain and oil, and cracked on illegal behaviors that disrupt market order. It also assembled a task force with Luogang Customs to oversee food safety testing and quarantine.
Meanwhile, the local market supervision bureau stepped up supervision and disinfection of warehouses for imported frozen food. Sales of antipyretics and cough medicine at 431 drugstores across the district were also monitored.

The Huangpu culture, radio, television and tourism bureau has coordinated with local hotels and has allocated 800 extra rooms for centralized quarantine of inbound passengers and close contacts of confirmed cases since May 21.
Thirty-four hotlines were launched by the Huangpu Social Worker Station to serve low-income workers, disabled people, left-behind children, and the elderly, among others.
