Key projects signed for intelligent manufacturing innovation center

A signing ceremony for the key projects of the Greater Bay Area Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center was held in Guangzhou's Huangpu district on May 18.

An agreement was inked between the Huangpu industry and information technology bureau, the Suidong sub-district office and SCI Group for the joint construction of a Greater Bay Area intelligent manufacturing software coordination center.

Sixteen other internationally or domestically renowned brands including Schunk, Hitachi and Walmart signed the strategic cooperation agreements with the Greater Bay Area Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center during the event.

Located in Nanwan community of Suidong sub-district, the 141-mu (9.4-hectare) innovation center has total floorage of 261,000 square meters. It borders Gangqian Road in the north and Huangjiao River in the south.

The center features a modern equipment parts procurement center, a machine exhibition and trading corridor, a remanufacturing center, a cross-border e-commerce center, an entrepreneurship park, and youth apartments.

Supportive facilities include a construction machinery culture exhibition hall, a national construction machinery quality testing center, academician studios, a roadshow center, cafe, stadium, dining space, shared communication space, and a commercial community.

There are also six service platforms for R&D and design, exhibition and trade, quality testing, talent incubation, supply chain management and control and cultural experience.

The center is envisioned as a global intelligent manufacturing technological innovation center and industrial index research center. It is to become an international, branded and informationized industrial park, an innovative complex that will not lag behind for 40 years and a new-type smart industrial park that keeps increasing in value.
