Huangdeng's transformation plan gains approval

The implementation plan on the transformation of old Huangdeng village in Changling sub-district was recently approved.

Located in central Huangpu, Huangdeng borders Jinkeng village in the east, Huangma village in the west, Changping village in the south and Taihe town in the north. The transformation will involve a total area of 22.8 hectares and be conducted over phases. Construction of relocated houses and supportive facilities will be prioritized.

In total, 174,700 sq m of old residences and plants will be demolished. Traditional enterprises with heavy pollution, energy consumption and water consumption in village-level industrial parks will be shut down. The industrial land areas will be cut by five hectares.

Over the next three to five years, the village will bring in multiple large and medium-sized enterprises engaged in elder care and accelerate the construction of high-end medical treatment projects. In addition, it will also develop big health and cultural tourism. A total of 85,000 square meters of business office areas will be built to create 3,000 jobs.

In the meanwhile, Huangdeng will restore the ecology of surrounding mountains and improve public facilities related to transport, medical treatment and education. The ancient trees and historic sites in the village will be integrated harmoniously with the modern living environment.
