Guangzhou Daily: Huangpu Customs help smooth trade with RCEP partners

Updated : 2021-04-30

A conference was held by Huangpu Customs and local government on April 28 to interpret the Catalog of Administrative Measures for Customs Certified Enterprises. Plaques were granted to six enterprises that obtained advanced certification in 2020.

The General Administration of Customs recently released the document, which lists 22 preferential measures including prioritized processing, shortened processing time, and reduction in supervision frequency and customs clearance costs for certified enterprises.

As of now, Huangpu is home to 203 authorized economic operators - parties involved in the international movement of goods that has been approved by, or on behalf of, a national Customs administration in compliance with the World Customs Organization or equivalent supply chain security standards. Fifty-three are advanced certified enterprises, which contribute to 30.1 percent of the district's total import-export value.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a major player under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, is the largest trade partner of Huangpu. It accounts for nearly 20 percent of total local import-export value.

The Huangpu Customs Certification Center has established a dedicated task force to help enterprises that have a lot of trade with RCEP member countries obtain AEO certification in the shortest time possible.
