Updated : 2021-04-29

A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Guangzhou Development District Investment Group and Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holdings Group on April 27.

The two enterprises will cooperate deeply in advanced manufacturing, smart manufacturing and new materials as well as investment and operation of scientific and technological industrial parks in keeping with the industrial development strategy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

For instance, a South China intelligent equipment industrial park will be built to promote the integration of equipment with the industrial internet, the internet of things, artificial intelligence, big data and 5G. It will grow into a world-class industrial cluster engaging in automobile spare parts, rail transit, R&D of core engineering equipment, equipment manufacturing, engineering research, and market guarantees.

In addition, the two enterprises will invest 2 billion yuan ($309 million) in establishing a green chemical engineering digital trading park that relies on big data sharing and internet interconnection technologies. Once operational, the park is expected to generate an output value of more than 100 billion yuan.

In February, Guangzhou Development District Investment Group invested in Guangzhou Guanggang Gas Energy, a subsidiary of Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holdings Group that has invested in China's first ultra-high-purity gas making device with independent intellectual property rights.

The partnership between the two enterprises will push forward the digitalization and intelligentialization of Huangpu's manufacturing industry throughout R&D, design, production and service.
