Huangpu Park has undergone a facelift to embrace the upcoming 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

The 500-meter lake-circling ecological corridor has been planted with 13 varieties of aquatic plants such as water lily and calamus, as well as seven kinds of flowering plants including coreopsis and holly.

The art square and stage at the park entrance have been torn down and transformed into a 6,800-sq-m square for large cultural activities. Lamps and surveillance cameras have also been added to the park, while 340 sq m of toilettes have been renovated.

Adopting the "sponge city" concept, 300 meters of road in the park have been paved with pervious concrete to form a system of rainwater collection, purification, transportation, recycling and discharge.
